The focus of my teaching is Middle English literature and German language and culture.
My research interests are in late medieval literature, in particular Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales, and short narrative genres, such as fabliaux and exempla. In German my focus is on oppositional movements and the popular culture of East Germany during the Cold War period.
I have published on Chaucer, medieval fabliaux and East German design and product culture. I am currently working on a study of East Germany’s ecological movement in the 1980s.
