Addressing environmental issues and the social value of art is at the centre of the curatorial and research practice of Taiwan based curator and writer, Hung-Fei Wu.
Hung-Fei Wu is joining the FEELed Lab as a visiting artist and researcher in September and October 2026.
The FEELed Lab research centre, is led by Dr. Astrida Neimanis, Canada Research Chair in Feminist Environmental Humanities here at UBC Okanagan.
Fei, and her collaborator Renyu, have been following the “weathering” research that Dr. Neimanis and colleague, Jennifer Hamilton, have been working on for over a decade.
“While I have never met Fei in person, we have been in contact for some years. Fei and Renyu reached out to us to tell us about how they were adapting these embodied, community-oriented climate change-related activities in Taiwan,” says Neimanis.
Adding that Fei’s work is in line with the FEEled Lab’s interest in feminist, place-based work that can help us reorient our relations to the Land.
“It has been so wonderful to see how it has travelled! Renyu was able to come to for a visit in 2025 as part of our FEELers Summer Camp, and we are now delighted to welcome Fei as well.”
While Fei is here, she will be joining in and learning from other activities on campus and at the Feeled Lab including an talk in the FCCS Visiting Artist Series on September 28, the Plant People gathering and the visit from poet Samantha Jones.
