Creative Studies also offers courses that are part of the Bachelor of Media Studies, a degree program that is jointly offered by the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies and the Irving K. Barber School of Arts and Sciences.
In addition to offering traditional discipline based programs, the Department is also developing interdisciplinary programs that will draw on the expertise within the Department, the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies and UBC Okanagan. The Department offers a limited number of teaching assistantships to both undergraduate and graduate students.
Creative Studies’ MFA program is unique in Canada and is designed to encourage an exchange of ideas and influences from non-studio and other academic disciplines reflecting the complex nature contemporary art and literary practice.
