Biography

Anita Chaudhuri specializes in Writing Studies and interested in the identity construction of language learners, their development in writing and communication, and how pedagogical practices such as, Writing in the Disciplines, Writing Across Curriculum and Culturally Sustaining Pedagogy impact curriculum development. She holds a PhD in English – Rhetoric, Composition and Linguistics from Arizona State University and has offered courses in composition studies, English as an additional language, and graduate level seminar in academic communication. She is a Fulbright fellow, a recipient of the University of Calgary’s Teaching and Learning grant for a team project on the impact of culture on language learning, and participated in a SSHRC Connection Grants project at UCalgary to understand the Deleuzian concept of ‘belonging’ in the realm of student learning. Dr. Chaudhuri joined UBC Okanagan in 2019 with more than a decade of experience in the field of teaching and learning.
