Undergraduate Teaching Assistantships

Job Classification:

UTA (Undergraduate Teaching Assistant)

Student Eligibility:

  • Must be registered in a bachelor degree at UBCO and enrolled full-time studies at UBCO. To be a full-time student one must be enrolled in the "Winter Session" (2 terms) with a minimum of 24 credits
  • Note: Preference is given to FCCS students
  • Possess necessary qualifications

Positions Available:

  • 5 UTA positions in ENGL 099
  • 5 UTA positions in SPAN

Salary:

  • $15.83 per hour

Application Deadline:

April 30 of each year 

Duties:

UTA duties may include the following:

  • assist and supervise students during writing labs
  • assist with marking low-stakes exercises
  • attend selected class sessions
  • attend meetings with instructor
  • communication with students via email
  • admin duties including photocopying exams and instructional materials
  • invigilation duties during in-class exams
  • assist supervisors using Canvas & iLrn
  • teach lectures under the supervision of faculty
  • assist students during office hours
Estimated hours of work : maximum 12 hours per week depending on workload 

The number of positions and the number of hours assigned to each UTA are subject to funding.
