Converstations About Art

Conversations About Art are casual discussions about what we are up to in the Department Creative Studies. We bring together faculty and students to talk about their creative practice and their experiences at UBC Okanagan.

Printmaking @ UBCO

In this Conversation About Art, visual arts instructors Briar Craig and Goldin Stahl give a demonstration on printmaking, while discussing their own art practices in the areas of screenprinting, etching lithography, and monoprinting, and talking about what they teach to students in the program.

Photography @ UBCO

In this Conversation About Art, visual arts instructor Andreas Rutkauskas and recent graduate Ziv Wei talk about the importance of photography, why they are photographers, a bit about their practice and what students learn in the program.

Performance @ UBCO

In this Conversation About Art, performance instructors Denise Kenney and Tracy Ross talk about the importance of theatre and performance, a bit about their art practice and what students learn in the program.

About the Department

Our faculty staff and students are a diverse group of artists, scholars, thinkers, makers, practicing a whole range of disciplines, working to expand the boundaries of creativity and challenge the boundaries of tradition.

We foster creativity and offer support through the study of art history and visual culture, creative writing, visual arts, performance, digital media, theatre and film. We are excited to look at these disciplines and generate connections and continuity and dynamics that foster new language, new artistic expression of each and every one of those disciplines, bringing them together to generate the future for our young and emerging artists that we want to be successful in this world.
