BFA Year End Show
Each year students in the fourth year of the BFA program host an exhibition showcasing their artwork that was created over the course of the year. The students transform the Creative and Critical Studies building and classrooms into an exhibition space to present a range of the next works created by these emerging artists.
Exhibition: Thursday, April 11 until Tuesday April 23
Opening Reception: Thursday, April 18, 7-10 p.m.
Creative and Critical Studies Building, UBC Okanagan, 1148 Research Road
Students have been working hard to create a body of original and engaging works over the course of the year and this April they will show their best works. Strangely Familiar includes a wide variety of artists’ works including sculpture, photography, drawing, painting, digital media and printmaking, and many of the students are working with themes of connection to place, technology, and a disconnect to place.
Check out this video of last year’s exhibition set up and opening reception.
The top students in the graduating class are recognized for demonstrating outstanding academic and artistic achievement over their final years in the BFA program, with a number of donor funded and faculty and university awards.
